  1. "There are so many karaoke lounges and other night spots with covert prostitution and some are located schools".

This is just about the perfect location for karoake lounges since they're only open during hours when the schools are closed.

That way the noise won't bother people trying to sleep, other than the night watchman.

Even better land use would be to rent out classrooms to karoake entrepreneurs. Or to barowners that dress their hostesses in school uniforms.

  2. I enjoyed Som Tam and the Thais seem to really like it that the falang is such a moron.

Stupid slapstick but laughing out loud if in a good mood.

I'd like to buy it but can't find it in Pattaya.

If Thai soundtrack must have English subtitles.

If English soundtracj must have Thai subtitles.

If anyone sees it on sale please give a shout.

  3. I've always taken the one to the little town facing Pattaya. 20 baht. Good if the objective is to rent a bike to tool

    around the island.

But the other one (40 baht?) sounds better if all u want is the beach.

  4. Not like Kuta as there is no surfing scene in Pattaya.

And not like American beaches where you lay out vyour blanket in the sand.

Rather, vendors set up umbrellas that block out the sun and under the umbrellas are beach chairs.

You can order beer and snacks at a nominal price.

  5. Ko Lan is a very nice day trip.

I was under the impression that the 20 baht ferries only go to the pier and then you need to get a bike or songthaew to a beach.

Or there is a more expenive ferry that ges to the beaches.

Someone was telling me yesterday about a 20 baht ferry that will bring you to a beach. Can anyone confirm and exactly where at Bali Hai is this ferry?

  6. In Bangkok, there are a bunch of ladyboy bars in Nana Plaza.

Pattaya, there are three ladyboy gogos, Stringfellows (Soi 13/1) mentioned above, Obssesions/Kitten Club

(Soi Pattyland 2)and Limmiquai (Soi Diamond) plus a whole bunch of ladyboy bars.

Probably the gentlest introduction to ladyboys is at Sally's Bar on Soi 5 in Jomtien not far from Immigration.

  7. The Castle is right next to Buffalo Bar, a favorite of the expat crowd.

The spreadsheet at Devil's Den though when I saw it the Hell Club, was amazing.

A lifelong buddy was on his first trip and we popped in and talked to the farang manager.

He explained the concept of the club and showed me the spreadsheet, just seemed strange.

But the spreadsheet is not what they did with particular customers, just what they would do in general.

Most bars attempt to separate themselves from the prostitution angle but this place was just over the top.

  8. Samui is a good choice for many travelers.

Many people like the upscale Chaweng on Ko Samui. It has a little something for everybody, beautiful beaches and nightlife.

Lamai on Ko Samui is probably the best choice for the sex tourist.

Ko PhanGan is the destination of choice for backpackers and their full moon parties are legendary.

Khao Suk is for the outdoorsey type. If things like leeches bother you, perhaps best to skip.

  9. Here's how the Devil's Den, formerly the Hell Club worked. It's based on the Eden Club (Bangkok Sukhumvit Soi 7/1 model).

You must take two girls. There is a yellow line accross the room and girls on one side of the line take anal and the other do not.

It's a place to live out fantasies with only scat play and blood off limits.

The manager showed me an Excel spreadsheet that said what each girl will/will not do.

So if you wanted for instance a tossed salad and golden shower, the manager would look at the spreadsheet and recommend a girl for you to pick.

You can pick both girls but it was recommended that you pick one and she pick onen that she's comfortable with.

Some guys reading this back home may think I'm putting you on.

    Not so. Crazy place.

  10. Think the escalation of disrespect for the office of the Presidency started with the way right wing media attacked Clinton. The Monica Lewinsky scandal was a good excuse.

The left wing retaliated by attacks on Bush's intelligence and mis-statements.

It seems at the beginning of his term Obama was a sacred cow of sorts; too attack him would appear racist, so Pelosi and Reid were used as proxies.
