  1. Good thing W is in charge of fundraising instead of logistics, heckuva job Brownie! Former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton to Lead Haitian Relief Fund Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush have been asked by President Obama to lead a relief effort to aid Haiti's earthquake victims. At times of great challenge, "Americans have always come together," Mr. Obama said, with Bush and Clinton at his side. "Responding to disaster must be the work of all of us." The two former presidents announced the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund to help raise money for Haitians suffering from the devastating earthquake that struck Jan. 12. 2. Ideally you want public transport vehicles to be new and safe along with an alert competent driver. But soso hilly rainslicked roads are always dangerous.
  3. That's also a good reason to abort. If a fetus is not wanted, chances are you'll get a fucked up kid running around. Back to the subject, either a happy marriage or a divorce where both parties put the interest of their kids first is best.
  4. Of course I'd never buy shoes without trying them on. Just want to try on as few as possible if I'm sitting on a dirt floor and knowing what size 10 is helps in that regard.
  5. Re the sizes if buying at an outdoor market I'd rather try on as few as possible.
  6. Obviously we wish no harm to fireman or occupants but fires are most definitly interesting.
  7. That's right, It's a myth that the USA tax system is progressive.
  8. A guy who's only been living here for a short while gets to learn very quickly about bars and restaurants. But there's a big time lag re clothes since we normally bring what we need for the first couple years.
  9. Anyone know of a good place to buy sneakers in Pattaya? Willing to buy either a good pair or cheap on depending on quality/price. Also anyone know what European size is a size 10 American?
  10. I think "sometimes" it's better for both parties not to force a mediocre relationship to work. Up to them!
  11. Have no idea LVD. Just something my teerak saw at about 2 in the morning, would not have made the papers yet, an exclusive ThailandVisa scoop.
  12. Late last night my teerak was walking by Friendship supermarket and saw a farang showing off driving very fast and doing wheelies on his motorcycle. Seconds later she heard a loud crash and fire by Tuk Com. She found out today the driver is dead. Hope no one else got injured.
  13. Ya, generally I click on new posts but of course the prior posts in that thread were old.
  14. I hear what you're saying. Guess u gotta know when to hold em and when to fold em.
  15. Tom Wolfe, 20 years, made a big point about throwing a half empty mayo bottle, arguably worse than tomatos or shoes. Good book, lousy movie.
  16. AA also charges extra for the first five rows. On one flight there was only one customer there while the rest of the plane was jam packed.
  17. Chaweng and Lamai are very different. Pre-paying for a hotel in one of these towns is a mistake if you don't which which place you'll like better.
  18. The world's biggest full moon party is on Ko Phan Gan but one needs to take a ferry or speedboat from Ko Samui to get there. This all night beach rave is a can't miss event for most backpackers.
  19. I don't think it's a great move. Amerika turns away lots of people and closing borders for public health reasons makes sense to me.
  20. Cool airport. Due to lack of competition flights to Samui are much more expensive than flights to Phuket.
  21. Yup just trying to feed their family, but I suspect they're aware of their rudeness. Can't really blame them I guess.
  22. I've often thought that if a marriage needs to be "saved" perhaps the folks shouldn't be married.
