Three and a half years ago when I joined, it seems like it was going to take off. I was a pleasant change from Thai Visa. much less negativity. Anyway, I check back from time to time hoping to to see it revive.

I have been in Thailand full time about 7 years. This the wettest rainy season I can remember. No water in our house yet, but close several times. What is most amazing is how fast it rises. I am getting a real understanding of flash flooding.

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF)— A group of demonstrators rallied in San Francisco’s Castro District Saturday afternoon to hold a ‘Nude-In’.

The mostly-male participants met at the corner of Market and Castro where Muni’s F-line turns onto Market Street, without a stitch of clothing.

The so-called Nude-In was organized by Mitch Hightower who said it’s all about body acceptance.

“Everyone deserves to feel comfortable in their own skin,” Hightower said, adding that it’s a preview for Sunday’s Folsom Street Fair, renowned leather and fetish event.

It also happens to come around the same time that San Francisco Supervisor Scott Weiner introduced some new nudity guidelines that requires nudists to cover up their seat with a towel when sitting in a public area.

One man named Will from Santa Rosa came to participate.

“I’m an art model. I get naked for a living. I’m in my work uniform,” he said.

Dozens more like him were seen standing, sitting or simply having coffee, but of course in the nude. They got a lot of looks from those passing by.

“It’s their right. As long as it’s not illegal,” said one eyewitness.

Hightower said as far as he knows it’s not illegal and that if all goes well, they’ll try to make this an annual event.

Roman Polanski has said he "regrets" having unlawful sex with an under-age girl in his first TV interview since his time in a Swiss prison.

"I have regretted it for 33 years, of course I regret it," said the Oscar-winning film director, in an interview aired on Swiss TV on Sunday.

Polanski pleaded guilty to having unlawful intercourse with 13-year-old Samantha Geimer in the US in 1977.

He fled the US on the eve of sentencing and was re-arrested in Zurich in 2009.

He then spent months in prison and under house arrest but avoided extradition.

'Double victim'

Polanski has since apologised to his victim and settled a civil case with her in the 90s.

"She is a double victim - my victim and a victim of the press," the director said in Roman Polanski: A Film Memoir, shot while he was under house arrest.

Polanski was originally charged with six offences including rape and sodomy but in 1978, he pleaded guilty to unlawful sex following a plea bargain and served 42 days in a US prison.

The film-maker, whose work includes Rosemary's Baby and Tess, fled the US after hearing rumours that the judge was about to re-sentence him for a much longer term.

He has never returned to the US and did not collect his best director Oscar for The Pianist at the 2003 Academy Awards.

In the interview with Swiss channel TSR, Polanski also spoke of his traumatic past, including his time spent as a Jewish child in a Polish ghetto during World War II and the murder of his wife, Sharon Tate, in 1969.

He said he was "made of stronger stuff".

"I am used to death a little bit like surgeons are used to seeing a stomach cut open," he said.

Polanski thanked Switzerland, whose courts rejected the US request for his extradition, saying: "Your nation possess values that are disappearing in the rest of the world.

"I cannot abide political correctness, which only hides the ugliness in all of us under a veneer," he added.

"We're all a bit like that, though with a few exceptions like me where the veneer is a bit thinner."

Last week, Polanski received a standing ovation as he accepted a lifetime achievement award at the Zurich Film Festival.

I have eaten at the Roadhouse many times over the years and always have a good time there. The prices are a bit high but the food is good and it is close to the gay bars.

The boys and I went today to test their burgers. We all tried a burger with different cheese and different toppings. We also had beer and soda.

The burgers are made of Australian beef and they taste pretty good. The bacon is cooked great and not raw like a lot of places in Thailand serve them. The fries are tasty but full of grease. So much grease in fact, the boys put a napkin on one and it was drenched with grease.

The burgers are 345 each and IMHO, that is too much for what you get. Both the burgers at Iron Fairies and BBC are better burgers and we left with a much better feeling.

All three of us gave the burgers 3 out of 5. And we gave the place a few marks down for prices and fries. So, we give it a 2.5 out of 5 total.

If you are in the area, the burgers are good. They are just not the quality of Bully's, Iron Fairies or Bangkok Burger Company. However, if you have a craving for a burger in the area, drop by and I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

I have had their ribs on several occasions and they were good. Most of the time.

If the BBQ is an indication, ( all I have had there)then I think you review is spot on. The BBQ was a disappointment. Maybe I am just spoiled by American BBQ (West coast)

I agree, the situation is complex. I am not sure what is really wanted by the Thai people. The only consensus is that the Monarchy is beneficial to Thailand. However it is good to hear political discussion ongoing. In years past, discussion of politics seemed to be avoided by my Thai friends, not now

However, I feel that the exigent circumstances were glossed over in the above article.

What puzzles me is even with all the turmoil going on in Thailand, such as the demonstrations, the violence, the major loss of tourists, and now a border clash with Cambodia, the baht continues to strengthen against the dollar. I would have thought the baht would be plunging given all this, but just the opposite is happening. I can't understand why.

I think currency speculation, and dollar selling may be the cause.

Personally I am not impressed with this blood spilling. I find it an empty, feeble gesture at best. I was very impressed by the self immolation of Monks during the 1960's in Viet Nam. That had a lasting and profound effect on me as well as tens of thousands in many Countries.

Perhaps the Red Shirts should consider making a statement that will be perceived has true commitment to their cause rather than a sophomoric attempt at media grabbing via blood spilling. Symbolism only goes so far, then the audience tends to get bored.

My recollection is my wife got her passport only using her Thai I.D. She used thai office at the Central Mall at Bang -Na. The turn around time 1 week. My step kids got theirs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, turn around time 1 week. The kids needed Birth certificates and death certificate of their biological father.

Humanity usually disappoints me. The lack of insight and intelligence is often truly frightening. I am reminded of Barney Frank's comment about the far rights belief that life begins at conception and ends at birth. Sometimes I still can smile.
