Clinton wouldn't take it.
Right now he gets to hang out in the cool part of Harlem and travel the world banging discreet chicks wherever he goes.
He'd never trade that for the type of non-media existence the Supreme Court demands.

Today in a Washington Post editorial it was said if Roman is really innocent he should have no problem agreeing to extradition.
What a load of crap.
Guilty men sometimes go free and innocent men wrongly incarcerated.
And innocent men sometimes plead guilty to reduced charges if they think it will save them 50 years in prison.

Now that sounds yummy!

Trust me, it is the poor who are opposed. Or at least a certain segment of the poor...specifically, rural white Americans who, for some unfathomable reason, buy into the whole Republican lie about health care reform being the road to ruin. These are the people who were showing up all pissed off at these town hall meetings...people who can't afford healthcare themselves. It's insanity.
I don't have health insurance. Fortunately, I can get some medical care through the Veteran's Admin, but I live in fear of a medical emergency. The VA doesn't cover ER visits, so to get any sort of emergency care that would not bankrupt me, the rules require that I travel to a VA hospital about 6 hours from here.
The whole rural white reaction makes no sense at all.

Rock on. Are they called the Singing Nuns?

4. The employee has a vagina.

If we send them to Somalia they might become pirates.
Not that I'm saying that's a bad thing.
I love that we live in a world that still has pirates.

"A hooker cut to look like Lana Turner is still a hooker."
"That is Lana Turner."
Best quote of both the book and the movie.

It's worth googling for the video of Letterman's confession.
It's both funny and sad at the same time.

Let me know if you've tried it!

What amazes me the most is that the people who would benefit the most from universal coverage - the poor and the middle class - are the people most opposed to universal health coverage.

At the time you were allowed to bring the girl's sexual history and "intent" for the encounter into evidence.
The girl apparently had an extensive sexual history and was brought to the house by her mother who told her to do anything she had to do to get a part in one of his movies.
Now, it's seriously unfair, but at the time, it's entirely possible that Polanski could have claimed he was set up by the girl and her parents for blackmail/civil suit purposes and got at least one member of the jury to buy it.
That's why the prosecutor's office was willing to plead this down to unlawful sexual contact with a minor instead of Rape One.

The Sisters Of Mercy eventually gave up teaching and became a kick ass goth band.

Also, if they look young, don't say "who's your daddy" when you do them.
It's just tacky.

Is it possible to embed links using the "a href =" method on comments?
That usually gives a stronger link back to the source.

To think that America used to be the car capital of the world.

She had the fuck of a lifetime.

Both films are ridiculously sexy.

Yes. Unless you are wealthy health care in America often comes down to the emergency room and/or bankruptcy.

That's a great book. The themes of adultery, betrayal and murder are universal through the ages.

The thing is he wouldn't have pled guilty if he'd known the judge wasn't going to honor the terms of the plea bargain, and given the state of California law at the time it's unlikely that he would have been convicted at trial.

This kid will be a famous performance artist someday

Amen to that.

I spent 10 years covering the criminal court system for the state of New Jersey. I can think of a dozen cases that I know about where guys were released after taking plea deals and pleading guilty a few years later when the cops discovered some other guy had done it.
These were the ones where the cops eventually figured out who really did it and wanted to get that new person badly enough where they were willing to admit it to the press. How many cases do you think occurred where the cops never realized they fucked up.
Here's the deal. I don't know about you but if the prosecutors office said to me: "Hey we are going to put a little girl on the stand and she's going to be very convincing and the jury is going to feel sorry for her and want to punish someone. Now you can either plead guilty now and do six months or risk the jury believing her and do 50 years" I might be tempted to plead guilty even if I didn't do it.
