CrazyExpat
As President Barack Obama goes on an unprecedented presidential blitz of media appearances, the White House is in a war of words with the network that did not get an interview: Fox. "We figured Fox would rather show 'So You Think You Can Dance' than broadcast an honest discussion about health insurance reform," White House spokesman Josh Earnest told ABC News. That's a reference to the program the Fox network aired at 8 p.m. on Sept. 9, when other major broadcast networks were airing the president's speech to the joint session of Congress. The idea of punishing Fox for not airing the president's speech didn't sit well with Chris Wallace, the anchor of Fox News Sunday. "They are the biggest bunch of crybabies I have dealt with in my 30 years in Washington," Wallace said on the Fox News program "The O'Reilly Factor." http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/obamas-media-tour-include-fox-news/story?id=8621065
Beer Chang
Fox news is slanted garbage. However, you don't need every channel airing the same speech. Give people who don't care about politics a choice.
lvdkeyes
Fox News is really a misnomer. Bill O'Reilly is a bigoted right wing pig. I wouldn't watch Fox News if it were the only network on.
smoker
Any channel that pays Glen Beck to say anything doesn't deserve any respect.
rucus7
Fox is not a news channel, why should it report news? Fox does well reporting the sensational, perverse and bizarre. Fox can call itself a news channel, a variety channel, a comedy channel, a sports channel a religious channel ETC. It remains a tool of Rupert Murdoch for manipulation of public opinion. smoker
I really see no reason why Obama should have to go on a station that thinks he's a Kenya-born Nazi. I mean, seriously, if there was a White Power television station that was popular would he have to go on that too?
WannaGo
Much to my dismay, I live in one of the reddest counties in Florida. Yesterday, I went into a local UPS Store, and there was a big TV mounted to the wall tuned to Fox News. I got to thinking about it and realized that every TV I've ever seen in a business or government office in this town was showing Fox. I can't remember a single instance when I walked in and saw somebody watching CNN or MSNBC. That was unsettling.

WannaGo
In certain counties in Florida both literacy, science and watching objective news are frowned upon as dangerous imports of Yankee elitists. Hey, you've been to where I live! It's amazing, I moved here from Tallahassee, which is one of the few historically blue counties in the state. It has two major universities, a large community college, a growing community of tech companies and, of course, the state government, so there tends to be more open and free-flowing thought there. I felt like I left civilization and landed in the middle of Green Acres...if all the characters in Green Acres were small-minded and spiteful. WannaGo
Check out this Colbert Report from last week, talking about the racism of Obama's critics, particularly on Fox. I laughed 'til I choked when Colbert put up Beck and Limbaugh in black face.

WannaGo
Go Seminoles! Say hi to Arnold the pig! You know, I worded that badly. Tallahassee was cool, and I miss it...the mean, angry, redneck version of Green Acres is where I live now. Arnold the Pig has tusks here.
