Beer Chang Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Christmas in Pattaya is quite a scene. Lots of bargirls in red outfits. Firework displays. Parties at lots of bars. More like Pottersville than Bedford Falls for sure.
rucus7 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 We drove into Pattaya on Christmas Day to see Avatar playing at the Central cinema. Our 8 and 9 year olds had a great time. Not so different from what I have done in America. We stayed in a hotel away from the bar scene, I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

Wino Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Through the years, I have been in Pattaya for Christmas many times. Until this year, I never noticed so many local fireworks displays. Is this new or did I just miss it in years past?

Wino Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 I was very surprised to see how widespread Valentine’s Day was celebrated in Laos. Five years ago, I was in Vientiane. I was passing the time of day in one of the many riverside establishments and witnessed several groups of school boys and girls celebrating the holiday. I thought it was only celebrated in the west.
