Some interesting stuff going on at the Best of E-Sarn 2009 festival. There was some great music and dance, cheap beer, and even free haircuts, a little something for everyone. Free Admission.

It's about halfway between Pattaya Klang and Soi 6 and you can enter from either Beach Road or 2nd Road. There may also be some stuff going on at Bali Hai pier, not sure.

Final night is Sunday, December 20th

I have had a good time at these events in past years. Even if you can't get your friends to go, it is a great place to have a beer and do some people watching.

I love this festivals that are held in Pattaya. When is the next one? I think there is a festival the middle of February.

This from another thread listed under "Pattaya Carnival." It happens February 12-14.

PATTAYA CARNIVAL FOR FEB. 2010 Pattaya prepares to tackle the “Guinness Book of Records†for the biggest “Gathering Of Bikini Fashion†on Pattaya’s Jomtien Beach, which will be held on 12-14th February 2010. This will be a colourful and very exciting Brazilian style festival, which is sure to attract lots of visitors.

Pattaya prepares to promote its “Pattaya Carnival†by inviting women to wear bikini outfits and join the activities on the beach. The organizers expect to have more than 2,000 bikini clad lovelies from all around the world to come and join this colorful festival.

At the Pattaya City Hall on Wednesday September 10th, the Deputy Mayor, Mr. Weerawat Kahkai, held a meeting with the officials and organizers concerned, to discuss the activities planned for the “Pattaya Carnival†which will be an exciting Rio de Janeiro style annual festival planned for 2010.

Two of the organizing companies displayed their ideas to the meeting, mainly aimed at presenting creative ideas for the promotion of tourism in Pattaya.

The bid event will held at the multi-purpose areas on Jomtien Beach, between 12-14th February 2010. “The Bikini Fashion Show Contest†in this Pattaya Carnival is expected to see the highest number of women wearing bikinis, who will all gather together on Pattaya’s popular Jomtien Beach. This will be a very colourful and exciting event, so it will provide some great photo taking opportunities for both visitors and locals alike.

Lvdkeyes states, "That certainly isn't necessarily the case in Pattaya. "

Perhaps with you and your circle of friend, this is not the case, but I would wager a bet the majority of men will certainly follow when beautiful women are involved.

Pattaya has a large gay population. Do you think they are interested in seeing skimpy bikini clad women? If the competition was open to both men and women they would draw a much bigger crowd. You can be sure of that.

Posted

And how large of a gay population do you think Pattaya has? Maybe 10%? I doubt the organizers really care.

"Pattaya's population is over 250,000

I think Pattaya's population may be severely undercounted.

For example I probably don't count. My teerak counts in her home province as that's where she votes despite having lived here for seven years.

Slant those statistics anyway you want. The fact is where there are beautiful women, the men will follow.

Lvdkeyes stated, "Why are they only inviting women? They would draw an even bigger crowd if they invited men as well. "

To get back to the statement that sparked this latest discussion, I believe you misread the article. The organizers welcome both men and women. They are inviting women in bikinis in order to break a Guinness record for the biggest “Gathering Of Bikini Fashion.†I guess to be politically correct, they could also invite katoeys and cross-dressers, but what is the point?
