Although I've never tried it, everything I read that people post about ostrich meat makes it sound as if it is very good. I see ostrich meat sold in some of the grocery stores, but I have no idea how to cook it. If you were going to make ostrich meat, how would you do it and what would be your recipe?
lvdkeyes Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 I have never tasted ostrich meat, but from what I understand you cook it much the same as beef, but do not overcook it since it has little fat and will dry out fast.
Wino Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 I had an ostrich steak at the Petite Planet on Soi Day/Nite 2 and it was delicious. It is not a regular menu item, but if you give the owner/chef a day notice he will serve you a mouth watering meal. Mine was served rare and was like a filet mignon. The chef is a very friendly fellow and may give you a few pointers on how to cook one on your own.
