Foreign
exchange services are easily available 24 hours a day on arrival
at the Bangkok and other major international airports in Thailand.
Major foreign currencies are easily exchangeable either at exchange
bureaus or at banks. Banks are open from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm. Some
bureaus may stay open longer than this.
These bureaus and banks charge commissions for their services
which may vary and it may be necessary to shop around. You can
also look in the business section of some of the local newspapers
where exchange rates offered by different institutions are listed.
Some major hotels also provide foreign exchange services but
this is restricted to major currencies such as; the American
dollar, the Euro and the British Pound.
Credit Cards and ATMs:
You can use your credit card to withdraw money from local ATMs
that offer this service. Credit Cards can also be used to pay
for hotel bookings, at some restaurants and shops. MasterCard,
Visa and American Express Credit Cards are widely accepted in
Thailand.
