Nakhon
Sawan is a City in central-north Thailand is the Capital City of
Nakhon Sawan Province and its name literally translates to “the
Heavenly City”. The City lies at the meeting point of the
Nan and Ping Rivers. The City has an estimated population of 91,802
people. The City is linked to other major towns and Bangkok by
rail and road. The only airport in Nakhon Sawan is the Takhli Air
Force Base and only emergency flights can be allowed to operate
from here.
Economy:
Agriculture and forestry dominate the region’s economy.
Farming in Nakhon Sawan produces; corn, jute, rice, sesame
and beans. The main industries in the City are food processing,
timber
and paper mills.
