Land Routes into Thailand:

Thailand is bordered to its northwest by Burma (Myanmar), to the north and north east by Laos and Cambodia. Malaysia borders Thailand to the south. 30 day entry visas can be issued at official border entry points.

From Burma:

There is a Thai embassy in Rangoon the Burmese Capital where you can easily obtain an entry visa for travel into Thailand usually within one working day. The Ranong and Victoria Point crossings can be used for entry into the Country.

From Cambodia:

The Thai embassy in Cambodia is situated in Phnom Penh at No.196 Preah Norodom Boulevard, in Sangkat Tonle Bassac. Entry visas can be obtained here. Travel into Thailand is easily done by taking a direct flight from Phnom Penh to Bangkok.

From Laos:

There are five official crossing routes along the Laos-Thai border. These are;
- Huay Xai, Bokeo Province to Xiang Khong, Chiang Rai Province in Thailand.
- Tha Kek, Khammouane Province to Nakorn Phanom,
- Savannakhet to Mukdaharn,
- Pakse to Chong Mek, Ubon Rathchathani Province,
- Xaingnabouri to Houay Kone, Nan.

Through Malaysia:

You can travel to the Malaysia-Thai border by train and transfer to another train traveling into Thailand. There are also buses that travel into the Country from Malaysia though these may take a considerable amount of time on the road. Regular flights are run between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
