Internet
services are widely available in Thai towns and cities and there
is increased use even by locals. The sector is privatized and there
are a number of Internet Service Providers in the Country. Broadband
and fast internet is available in major cities such as Bangkok
and Phuket.
Internet Cafes are your best bet for online
access and in Bangkok you can find one on almost every street
even in
residential areas. Many cafes also provide fax services. The
cost of browsing the web is very cheap and costs and you would
expect
to pay between 1 and 3 Baht per minute in most places.
Wi-Fi hotspots are also available if you have a compatible laptop
or portable PC. Some major hotels offer internet services for
their residents for a fee or as a complementary service.
Additional services offered at a number of internet cafes include;
CD burning, online gaming, chat and document printing.
