Thailand
has a well developed domestic and international air service network.
Domestic flights within the Country are very cheap and far from
a luxury for many visitors. For about $30 you can travel to most
cities and towns within the Country. Travel to neighboring Malaysia
costs less than $100. There are daily flights between Thai Cities.
These are operated mainly by; Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, Thai
Air Asia and One-Two-Go. The Bangkok Airport is the main gateway
into Thailand and caters for direct and connecting flights from
Europe, Australasia, Africa, Arabia and North America.
Major Airports:
There are four main international airports in the Country. These
are;
- The Bangkok International Airport: this is a world class facility
and one of the busiest in the region. The airport has two international
passenger terminals and one domestic terminal.
- The Chiang Mai International Airport: the main gateway to northern
Thailand and the historical City of Chiang Mai. The airport has
one main terminal building and caters mainly for domestic flights
and flights from neighboring Countries.
- The Hat Yai International Airport in southern Thailand,
- And the Phuket International Airport.
